라면 선생: Ramyeon Teacher Restaurant Review
Ramyeon Ramyeon Ramyeon!! I stumbled across this cute ramyeon cafe/restaurant whilst walking around my neighbourhood. It's called Ramyeon Teacher (라면 선생) and it is located in Gangneung, Ponam Dong (포남동), opposite the Utah Kid's Club Kindergarten.
The outside looks pretty neat. It's designed to look Japanese, although they don't sell Japanese ramen. It definitely looks unique.
They only have a small menu, three kinds of ramyeon, a rice bowl, fried shrimp and korroke.
카레라면 Curry Ramyeon 7,000won
몽환라면 Monghwan Ramyeon 6,000won
통곡라면 Tonggok ramyeon 8,000won
갈비덮밥 Galbi Deopbab 7,000won
새우깡튀김, 고로케 Saeoo ggang twiggim, korroke 2,000won each
I don't know what 몽환라면 and 통곡라면 means, but they are both spicy! Actually, I think the curry one is spicy too, but probably mild.
This is the Galbi Deopbab, basically, pork rib meat on top of rice. It was pretty good, delicious. It's topped with shredded lettuce of some kind.
Monghwan Ramyeon! I don't know what in it. But, it tasted really good. However, it's spicy. It's topped with a hamburger style piece of meat. It took me ages to eat this as it was spicy. I liked it though, the noodles were nice, not the instant kind.
Overall, it wasn't too bad. The price is good for the big portions. I hope they put non spicy ramen on their menu in the future though!
