BBIA Eyebrow Tint

Tint for your eyebrows! Who hates drawing them on every day? I sure do, and I don't even have nice eye brows. I've never had them shaped or done anything to them apart from plucking the stray hairs. I want to get them done though, but need to find a decent eyebrow specialist here in Korea. Maybe one day. So, this tint is like henna, you draw it on your eyebrows, leave it on for a specific amount of time, then wash it off. The longer you leave it, the darker it will be.

I bought this BBIA Eyebrow tint for 5000W (£3.40), on Gmarket. I first saw this eyebrow tint advertised on social media and thought, why not. I'm a big fan of trying out the new make up trends over here in Korea. The tint is like a pen eyeliner, it has a thick tip to help cover your eyebrows easily.

How to use
1. On a dry, non oily face, draw on your brows. Shape them how you want, although stay near your hair growth, or it will look weird.
2. For the first time, leave on for 5 hours, then wash off. You can remove it after 1 hour, but the longer you leave it, the stronger the colour.
3. The colour fades naturally after three days, top the colour up and leave it on for 2 hours.
*If the pen feels like it isn't working, use a wet wipe and wipe the tip. Store it in a horizontal position and don't shake or it will leak*

Right, first off, this pen is naff! The tip dries up pretty quick, and I found it super hard to get the colour onto my eyebrows. The tip  of the pen didn't work well, but the sides did. I had to angle it to get the ink onto my brows.

Left: Overnight Middle: 3 hours Right: 1 hour
Above is the swatch test. The one left was left on over night and was the brightest, and it's more of a dark brown with orange tints. The middle one was less prominent, still a brown colour. And the last one was grey.

I used mine over night as my eyebrows are pretty dark. I kinda of hoped to see some result, but after washing there was no difference! Maybe a slight tint, but nothing more. It was really disappointing, and I really hate how the videos on social media "lie". I would have thought there would be some colour after leaving it on for over 12 hours!

I'm sad that this didn't work, as it looked pretty cool. There are other brands sold though, where you apply the liquid, then peel it off. I might give them a try. However, it might be better to just use an eyebrow pencil.

What do you think about these kind of eyebrow pens? I always wonder, what if you draw it on and then when you wash it off again and it looks weird or slug like? I'm thinking of trying microblading at some point, but again as I don't have "shaped" eyebrows, it might look weird.

  1. Eyebrow tinting is such a good idea as it saves drawing them on, it’s a shame this one didn’t work!

    1. Sadly a lot of Korean products are like this.

  5. I like how your review is really honest about the product, so others reading it are not deceived and hear it how it is.

  6. Never heard of eyebrow tinting. Mine are pretty thick and dark but are out of control, I pluck to keep them tame but I should probably have a professional do them from time to time.

Sorry your experience wasn't the best, looked like you were looking forward to a good product. Hopefully you'll find something that works for you soon.

    1. I never done anything to my eyebrows either apart from plucking them.
It's a good idea for a product, but it can look super fake!

  7. Too bad the product wasn't what you expected. It's not easy to find something that fits your eyebrows but I think I have found my perfect product; Lumene eyebrow shaping wax. I can't live without it!

    1. Oh I need to give it a go! Shaping wax? Is it easy to use?

    2. It's super easy: it's like putting mascara on your eyebrows. I also think it's more like gel than wax.

  8. I am so bad at keeping up with my eyebrows, I'd get them waxed and then I won't go back for another session until like 4-6 months later... Like right now, I have to get them waxed (they are getting out of control!) lol. I want to get mine microbladed too but I'm scared of the pain - like the microblading videos I've watched make me anxious even though you have numbing cream!

  10. My friend swears by wunderbrow have you tried that yet hers she says lasts a few days. It's disappointing when a product doesn't do what it says though!

  11. I LOVE eyebrow tattoo pens and had heard a lot about BBIA for their quality eye liners, so it's disappointing that these didn't work out. I've found that most of the markers don't tint that well. The one I've found that really lasts for a couple of days is the peel-off (you mentioned you'd like to try one of those) by Etude House.

  12. Too bad you didn't like it.. Luckily my eyebrows are so dark I don't need eyebrow tint, pencil or anything. Thanks for the honest review!

  13. I hate when products don't do what they claim! The idea of an eyebrow tint is cool but I'm super scared to try this out because I don't want my eyebrows to be uneven or weirdly shaped. Maybe one day... Great review as always, Kelly!
